Shawn has a small bone to pick with ML, who has a bone to pick with the people in charge of security in the tunnel at the Big House, while Marc bones up on multiple multi-part TV series.

STRAIGHT DOPE: College football kicked off with some big games and big stories, but ML wants to know why no one is reporting on the BIGGEST story: Another tunnel incident at the Big House! Marc and Shawn just ignore him.

Shawn asks ML to tell the origin story of Giuseppe Browneye, a fictional character borne of a campaign trip that involved the Windsor and Elrick families. Recollections are shady, but ML assures the gang there were no “Canteen Boy” moments.

ML and Shawn connect iconic Chicago greasy spoons with the TV shows and movies they inspired. The Billy Goat Tavern and “Saturday Night Live.” And White Palace and, well, “White Palace.”

While the gang is talking about Chicago restaurants and celebrities, ML busts out the story of a beautiful woman he knew who was a big fan of Evel Knievel – until he tipped her at a restaurant in Little Italy.

Baywatch is back! Marc gets us caught up on the series looking back at the cultural phenomenon while ML and Shawn debate whether the show could be made today.

Speaking of reboots, Shawn loves “Shogun,” while Marc says “take it easy on the subtitles!” ML’s outrage over the remake of “Roadhouse” prompts spontaneous tributes to Sam Elliott.

ML sounds off on buttinskis after a fellow guest at a Muskegon hick bar chimes in on his private conversation to opine about certain people wanting to impregnate Americans.

Shawn finally gets to pick his bone with ML. Then Marc shares a joke about guys on the beach using potatoes to create the illusion of large bones.

ML applauds as Shawn responds to a reader who objects to his reference to Wolverine fans as “entitled.” Read the offending column here.

ML discusses one of the most muddled situations he’s ever encountered when he investigated a candidate for Macomb County sheriff who may be a tax cheat. Read all about it here and let us know what YOU think.

A listener praises Tresa Baldas’ Free Press story about a speeding teen who crashed and killed a friend, then poses a provocative question the team responds to. Read Tresa’s story here.
