- M.L. Elrick (Twitter @elrick/Facebook ML ELRICK/Instagram ml_elrick), Shawn Windsor (Twitter @ShawnWindsor), Marc Fellhauer (Twitter @MarcFell) and Soft Magazine editor Matt Jennings (Twitter @MattRJennings) put their hands in the dirt and try to move the ball forward. Hut! Hut! Hut!
- THE STRAIGHT DOPE: The show starts off with some shameless plugs for SOD merch, available at www.drewandmikestore.com. Coming up — JUST IN TIME FOR FATHER’S DAY — is a sweet-ass SOD trucker’s hat.
- So ML took GREAT PAINS in the pre-game meeting to MAKE SURE everyone knew the show would start with a discussion of his LATEST EXCLUSIVE report for the Detroit Free Press in which he unwinds the twisted case of a Detroit City Councilman indicted on bribery charges. Then he completely blows it and instead starts bloviating about his trip to Lansing last week to cover “Judgement (sic) Day.”
- These States are not United. Why? Too many voices? So many choices? Shawn cribs a line from Drew and Mike: “It’s not all about you, sweetheart!”
- Even if you doubt the experts, or the efficacy of masks, ML says good manners alone are reason to wear a mask. (And, on behalf of reporters everywhere, he suggests that those of you who don’t chew gum or consume mints put on a mask so your dragon breath doesn’t make our nose hairs fall out.)
- Shawn gets all worked up. He even drops an MF-bomb. You absolutely MUST hear it for yourself! (And he packs a lot of wisdom in between those NSFW moments.)
- ML gets carried away next. He finally runs out of breath after a reference to testicles and pancakes that leaves everyone speechless.
- Marc recovers first and becomes the latest populist leader to launch a new movement. He’s calling it “Don’t be a dick.” Sign up sheets available upon request.
- THE GREAT DEBATE: ML FINALLY gets around to his Leland story. But not until he takes everybody back to the protest and masks topics. Then he goes back to the Leland story. Then Marc and Shawn talk Michael Jordan and LeBron James. And … well, gosh, it sure takes a long time to get to this week’s OUTSTANDING and EMINENTLY RELEVANT topic: Are Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s national TV appearances in Michigan’s best interest — or her best interest?
- GEEK OF THE WEEK: Fake cops get busted creeping up on real cops on an undercover assignment. If that sounds stupid, wait til you find out what the fake rollers had in their fake cop car!
- THIS WEEK IN SOFT HISTORY Soft Magazine Editor Matt Jennings talks about the historic flight of the Spirit of St. Louis. The boys go along for the ride and we can guarantee that urine for a great punchline!
- ROOM 7609: It’s bass month in Room 7609, brought to you by Elrick Bass Guitars (www.elrick.com). Our VERY special guest is a game-changing bass player who took a break from New Order to form Revenge then took a break to from Revenge to form Monaco, whose “What Do You Want From Me?” puts a heavy beat into the NuWave suite.
